the 10 commandments (from a dog's perspective)

Taken from here

I felt like I just had to share this. There was something about this piece that really spoke to me, probably because I'm a dog owner and animal lover. I believe this applies to all animals and not just dogs. It always breaks my heart and boils me up when I hear about people abandoning their pets because they were too much of a handful or not longer cute, or they simply harm the animal.

#10 really hit the center of my heart. I lost two dogs that have been part of all of my adulthood and most of my childhood recently and I can't even begin to explain the heartbreak and sadness that just consumes you when you realize you have to let them go. I accompanied both dogs to their final visit to the vet and I was extremely distraught and upset that the staff wouldn't let me stay with my dogs until the very end. I always hoped my dogs never felt abandoned in their final moments and that they would feel my presence at the other side of the door, but I've never been sure. I didn't and still don't understand why they wouldn't let me stay with them.

This post is dedicated to my two beautiful babies who have passed on. I miss you both and I love you. I'll see you again, just be patient until then.
